Common questions.

Will this work with my existing media library?
Yes. The Bulk Sync tool migrates existing media to R2 in batches, with retry caps and progress tracking. It has been tested on libraries of 1.5 million+ items in production.
What happens if I deactivate the plugin?
Your media stays on R2, untouched. URLs revert to your origin server so your site keeps working, and if you reactivate, the plugin picks up right where it left off.
Does it support AWS S3, Backblaze B2, or DigitalOcean Spaces?
Not yet. Wrenio Media Offload is R2-only at launch. Multi-cloud support is on the roadmap, but R2 is the only supported provider in v1.0.0.
What about Cloudflare cache purging?
When you replace an image the R2 object is overwritten, but Cloudflare’s edge cache may serve the old version until TTL expiry. v1.0.0 doesn’t auto-purge — manual purge or waiting for TTL is required. Auto-purge is planned for a future release.
Which WordPress and PHP versions are supported?
WordPress 6.4 and newer, PHP 8.0 and newer. We test on the latest two major versions of each.
Is the plugin GDPR-friendly?
Yes. It collects no telemetry and sends no data to third parties. Your R2 credentials stay in your own install, and the R2 buckets you create live in whichever region you choose — including EU regions.
